:: Monterey Bay Canyon Palette ::
Hand-Poured Watercolor Palette
There is a rhythm to the sea, a quiet pulse that whispers between the waves. This palette invites you to immerse yourself in the poetry of Monterey Bay, capturing its subtle shifts in light, depth, and movement.
Hand-poured in small batches, each pan reveals the natural texture of mineral pigments, allowing for soft, luminous washes or more saturated passages. The collection reflects the bay’s most intimate moments: the shadowed canyons, sunlit kelp forests, reflective twilight, and rolling currents.
The palette includes six evocative shades:
Abyssal Blue – profound and contemplative, inspired by the hidden depths of Monterey canyon
Kelp Forest Teal – dense and sun-dappled, echoing the gentle sway of underwater forests
Twilight Bay – muted and reflective, like evening light across calm waters
Coastal Upwelling – airy and luminous, inspired by rising coastal currents
Pelagic Blue – expansive and pure, echoing the open waters beyond the shore
Riptide Blue – medium true blue, capturing the dynamic rhythm of rolling waves
Each color flows with measured elegance, responding beautifully to glazes and bold passages alike. This palette encourages mindful creation, where every brushstroke resonates with texture, light, and the gentle energy of the sea.
Formulated to allow a range of expression, from light, airy washes to deeper, saturated passages. Each pigment interacts with its companions to create subtle shifts and layered depth across the palette.
