Materials & Craft

Every Wildthorne watercolor is hand-poured in our Santa Cruz studio using carefully developed traditional techniques, designed to be lived with over time. Each color is a study in depth, granulation, and layered potential, a material to engage with directly.

Composition:

  • Artist-grade, lightfast pigments

  • Natural watercolor binder: distilled water, honey, glycerine, acacia sap

Studio Intentions:

  • Rich, nuanced depth in every hue

  • Granulation that supports layering from thick to thin

  • Consistency and longevity in every pigment

Each palette, pan, or study honors historical watercolor practice while embracing contemporary studio standards. Every color is meant to be held, explored, and returned to, a companion for reflection and creation.
