Salt Light Mala

Cream Wood · Recycled Glass · Shell
A softer, lighter interpretation of the contemplative mala — inspired by sun-bleached wood, linen touched by salt air, pale sand, and the quiet atmosphere of the California coast at first light.
This strand pairs smooth cream wood beads sourced from India with cream satin cording, creating a warm tonal softness against the skin. A recycled African glass bead in pale sea-glass blue is placed intentionally at the 54th station, offering a subtle visual and tactile pause within breath-centered practice.
In place of a traditional tassel, the mala is finished with a naturally weathered hand-gathered shell, creating an ending that feels elemental, worn by tide and time, and quietly luminous.
Designed as both contemplative tool and sculptural adornment, the piece carries the calm rhythm of tide, breath, and repetition.
Created beneath the Jupiter–Venus conjunction — a traditionally auspicious alignment associated with artistry, devotion, and grace — and completed during the Moon’s hour, honoring cycles, reflection, and the contemplative body. The finished piece was additionally ritually fumigated with a precise blend of Himalayan mountain herbs and fired botanicals, imparting a subtle atmosphere of smoke, resin, earth, and coastal air.
