Numina
Hand poured watercolor palette
Limited edition
Numina is a six-color hand-poured watercolor palette named for Roman goddesses, each hue developed as an archetypal presence rather than a decorative tone. Together they form a quiet cosmology of light, fire, authority, soil, intellect, and shadow, intended for slow painting and repeated return.
The palette includes Luna, Vesta, Juno, Ceres, Pallas, and Eiris, presented as six half pans.
Pigments are formulated to emphasize depth, granulation, and restrained luminosity. These colors are responsive, offering subtle variation across washes and layered passages. The palette favors artists attuned to material dialogue and creative exploration.
Materials and Making
Mineral pigments are blended with a natural watercolor binder composed of distilled water, honey, glycerin, and acacia sap. Each pan is poured by hand and allowed to settle according to the studio's rhythm, preserving the individuality of its surface and texture. All colors are lightfast, with naturally occurring granulation and soft reflective qualities where noted.
This palette exists in an edition of three. Once dispersed, it will not be repeated in this form.
Wildthorne palettes support the placement of solitary bee nests in protected habitats throughout the Pacific Northwest, extending the studio practice into ecological stewardship.
Made slowly. Intended to be lived with.
