Fire Horse Watercolor Pigment

This watercolor pigment is shaped by material and process, guided by nature and the behavior of its elements. Each pan is intentionally overfilled and allowed to settle freely, inviting the pigment to form according to its own character. The result is a tall, volcanic-like cracked surface that reflects the authenticity of the natural soils and minerals from which it was crafted.

The color is a rich garnet red with subtle violet undertones, offering depth, warmth, and complexity. Its heavy granulation creates expressive movement on the page, allowing the pigment to separate and settle in organic, unpredictable ways.

This watercolor is created for artists and creatives who are drawn to textural materials and who enjoy working with pigments that invite exploration rather than control. No two pans are alike. Each carries its own topography and surface height, making every piece visually and materially unique.

Ideal for landscapes, portraits, nature studies, journaling, reflective work, and talismanic imagery, this pigment encourages courage in mark-making and a grounded, intuitive approach to creation.

Each pan is carefully wrapped to preserve its unique form and arrives in special lunar new year ephemera, accompanied by a paper talisman offering blessings for the cycle ahead, a quiet companion for those who value material honesty, depth, and freedom in their creative practice.
