Regal and passionate, a sensuous gemstone necklace of somber beauty. A teardrop of faceted Garnet is the majestic focal in this jewel of temptations and hidden desires. Dark plum colored Pearls and Pyrite dance alongside faceted Onyx, and Smokey Quartz. A rare shard of Lepidocrosite in Quartz is set aflame next to raw garnet while midnight black and Pomegranate hued seed beads hold court. 

A lunar talisman of desire and longing. Handcrafted during the night sect of a Scorpio moon. 

The first decan of Scorpio season speaks of desire and passion. In ancient Hellenistic texts the Nymphai are said to reside over this segment of the stellar season, both comely and beautiful, Nymphs were the mythical nature goddesses of forest, clouds, trees, and meadows. The ‘Lunar Torchlight’ series was envisioned as a series of light-bearing Nymphai each with its distinctive voice and instruments of serenity. 

As Mars transits through the constellation of the Scarabaerus, this gemstone strand was crafted in honor of the synthesis of light with our closest wandering luminary, the Moon. Genuine semiprecious gemstones are complimented by an array of glass beads that have been forged in martial fire for protection. This talisman can be worn as a touchstone of strength during the waxing and waning tides of life. 

Lunar Remediation for Mars in Cancer

The stellar transit of Mars in Cancer will be with us from September 4 through April 18, 2025, accompanied by a brief Mars retrograde later this year. This marks the second jewel series in my planetary remediation series as I deepen my relationship with the stars.

Mars in Cancer presents a unique challenge; the deep emotional sensitivity of Cancer—characterized by nurturing, solace, and comfort—often clashes with the fiery, impatient nature of Mars, which seeks immediate action and is driven by strong passions. As someone with a Cancer Moon and a potent Mars, I handcrafted this necklace to help others balance these opposing forces.

Mars finds itself in a position of detriment in Cancer, where the Moon is cherished and revered. Those led by the Moon often experience the ebb and flow of intense feelings and instincts. This constant state of flux offers the potential for flexibility, adaptability, and empathy, but it also harbors the shadows of melancholia, frustration, and rage. Thus, wielding the tools of Mars through the protective lens of Cancer requires a focus on emotional well-being. We must take pauses to listen to our inner selves, honoring our needs for rest, healing, and contemplation before taking action. This process tempers the sharp intellect of Mars, allowing it to be shrouded in the calm of a Moonlit night.

This Moon jewel was handcrafted during a particularly auspicious lunar election and will be subfumigated and wrapped in layers of meaningful materia from our local studio forest before reaching its new owner. Suitable for all genders, it is designed for those who wish to strengthen their emotional boundaries while receiving comfort and steadfast support. Composed using the sacred number sequence of the Moon.

Each inch of every strand has been created mindfully with a heuristic of graceful flow. Please note that there is no clasp, this bead-strand necklace slips over your head in a fluid motion with grace in a symbolic circle. 

** As the crystals in this necklace are natural there may be slight variations in colors and surface textures. Also, any lines or marks in the crystals are not cracks but a natural inclusion and are a part of the unique patterning within the stone. This showcases the crystal's inherent beauty as minerals come from the Earth.

Care Instructions: I recommend that this necklace be rinsed in cool water when you wish to clean it and gently blotted dry. When not being worn I also recommend that you store your necklace in its original box that it was sent in, or wrapped in a soft cloth.
